cut .............
This may sound off the beaten path but have we a scientific
way of going from
the physical to the astral plane via "reasonable" jargon
that could be
understood?
One way to understand the relation between the physical
and the ASTRAL is to look on the physical as solidified or
concretized astral.
One only need to look at the complicated structure of our
physical bodies, not to mention Nature in its entirety, to
wonder how such complexity arises and is maintained. What
tells the atoms, molecules and cells where to go and how to
interact?
Theosophy holds that the astral may be compared to a very
strong resilient network -- a lattice -- of electro magnetic
forces and powers. On this living pattern body the atom and
the molecules and cells arrange themselves into a usable
form.
How to explain healing? How is it that all living things
obey certain laws of growth and relationship? What is the
source of valence in the chemical elements? What
distinguishes one atom from another, or one molecule from
the rest, in terms of their properties?
Our Science describes these differences very well but cannot
say why or how they come about. If they could, then indeed
they could create (?) new atoms and molecules out of more
basic substances -- and what would those substances be?
Where would they be drawn from?
I say this because I do not know the answers, but I do have
those questions and have held them for a long time.
Here a longish essay that wraps up the subject pretty well.
Let me know how it strikes you.
The main idea is that a great number of intelligent and
powerful entities always interact to build a complex
structure like our universe, our Earth, and our own bodies -
there are analogies running through all these. Perhaps that
is one reason why H P B in the S D started it in a way that
would show us that force and power and purpose underlies
all forms, and gives them a reason for existence.
Dip in and see if this helps.
Best wishes,
Dal
