Re: Theos-World science as psuedoscience - where does it end?

Further to my initial post, I have been conversing
with a professor from my university about science,
theosophy and psuedoscience. Below are some comments
few may find interesting:

Hmmmm. I have a problem with ANY group that says it is
seeking 'truth' when you realise that 'truths' are not
and cannot be the stuff of science. 'Revealed truths',
whether sought, bought or caught, are the stuff of
belief systems like religions. Science knows nothing
of truths which is why it can progress in its
understanding, unfettered by commitments to beliefs.
That's the theory anyway. The practice is often
something quite different, at least for a while. But
eventually the distinction between science and any
particular belief system should become clear. You will
note there is no 'Theo' anything in any conventional
degree program except Theology,
which proposes to objectively examine belief
systems--too close to an oxymoron in my book, but hey,
it keeps them off the streets.

Gosh it's good to be so tolerant of the views of
others!
