Or, to put it another way, let's take a look at the Middle East. Israel
has a goal, which they are not willing to compromise, to continue their
own existence. The Palestinians have a goal to drive Israel out of all
of what they call the "occupied territories", which, if you look at
their own literature, includes the original State of Israel (note that
the PLO was founded in 1964, when the only land Israel occupied was its
own original borders).
