Sorry Bart, but I'm more confused now than I was before. Is it that you
are using a purist definition of liberalism and those modern politicians
who classify themselves as liberal, i.e. Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton,
etc, are really something else? They certainly advocate more government.
I have always been taught that liberals WERE left wing, and pro
government control. Conservatives are the ones who advocate less
government and more individual responsibility. What am I missing here?
