Dear Christina and Friends:
The Buddhist literature is vast. If one desires to know of
how the Buddha dealt with reincarnation we have the 550
Jataka tales in which He narrates incidents from his past
lives which cumulated in the development of his condition as
a "Buddha."
Outside of the DHAMMAPADA there is a vast sea of sayings and
lecture, answers, etc. all attributed to the Buddha which
his immediate disciples set down in laborious and full
detail. But those are attested to only be one or a few of
them.
The DHAMMAPADA verses are those which every member of the
brotherhood agreed on were actually said by Him.
As another instance, if we were to look at the BHAGAVAD GITA
of Krishna, who anteceded Buddha by about 2,500 years, we
would find the same ideas framed in different words, as
advice to a young prince, who faced the battlefield of
self-reform -- illustrated by an actual historical battle
(historical) of the forces of GOOD [Pandavas] vs. those of
EVIL [Kurus] in India 5,000 years ago. [Separately I send
in some notes on this. ]
H.P.Blavatsky in ISIS UNVEILED traces a parallel between
Krishna, Buddha and Jesus. ( I U II 537 ) worth reading.
Best wishes,
Dal.

How about we keep going with bible stuff, and those
well-versed in
Buddhism, for example, feel free to chime in with their
contributions?
Like, can we correlate anything from the Old Testament of
the Bible,
with stories, allegories, and terms the are fundamental to
Buddhist
texts? [Would help in the Matrix project as well...]
