With this last series of posts, we have completed a major
section of our
study.

This leaves a number of open topics yet to be discussed.

Reed mentioned in his post to Dallas that we should go
deeper yet into a
number of topics. this has been my wish also. I had hoped
that the posts
would evoke logical questions that would in turn lead to
further
discussion.

1-Reed mentioned the topic of evolution.

In our posts, we have twice now come across the mention of
the Third Race's cross breeding with animals to produce the
progenitors of the Apes. No one bats an eyelash! I don't
believe everyone on the list is so up to speed on this topic
that it
merits no discussion. Perhaps the opposite is true and it
went over many
heads. Only this week a major news story repoeted the
finding of yet
another "early man," this one purporting to be a tie in to
both man and
chimps. Science has gotten away from teaching that men are
descended
directly from the apes, now they assert a common origin.
Theosophy
teaches that man is literally the "monkey's uncle" and that
the ape line
came from the early Third Race through miscegenation with
some primitive
non-human primate. We need to discuss this further.

DTB	THIS IS A DESCRIPTION OF A PHYSIOLOGICAL EVENT.
Mankind when in its early stages as FORM, had not acquired
the mental tools of discrimination. The body (formed
gradually by the condensation of the ASTRAL BODY into the
PHYSICAL OF TODAY, guided then solely by emotion and desire
ruled. This was a stage anterior to the "lighting up of
manas."

The "man-form" of those early days (which had been prepared
by "natural impulse" as a receptacle for the Mind-Man of
today), was not even the man of developing mind as found
today.

The FORMS, unguided, made the error of mating with the FORMS
of she-animals of that age, and as the differentiation
between the human and the animal FORM, was still close it
proved fertile -- so the race of pre-anthropoids emerged
with "human egos -- Minds" entrapped in those FORMS -- and
the evolutionary stream so created, continues up to this
time.

Along with this comes the even more "politically incorrect"
teaching that
the Atlanteans then knowingly reproduced with these early
Simians,
giving rise to some very primitive races of mankind, some
which have died
out since. Also the assertion that some of these races have
only recently
had MANAS lit within them and are only recently engendering
Karma. Are we
ready to "go there" and discuss this topic?

DTB	I believe there is an error here. The Atlanteans,
consciously and deliberately, renewed the "sin of the
mindless" with the descendents of the primitive
miscegenation. The anthropoids of today are their
descendents. The "Atlanteans " of those early days are the
same Egos we are today, using, currently, and inhabiting the
bodies of present mankind. The Anthropoids and Apes of
today are still forms in which human egos are entrapped.
The SECRET DOCTRINE states these races (forms) are now dying
out.

2-Mark brings up a good point about early man being a
hermaphrodite and
then "falling into generation." More discussion could be had
on this
topic.

DTB	Refer to The SECRET DOCTRINE -- hermaphroditism was
only a STAGE of evolutionary reproduction of FORM. The
important aspect of all evolutionary consideration is NOT
form, but MIND DEVELOPMENT -- the power to THINK.

The next consideration is that the whole evolutionary scheme
is not solely for man and mind-development, but rather that
every "life-atom" (Monad) may develop and evolve through the
various kingdoms of nature and eventually enter the human
stage where an independent and free Mind and its thoughts
are developed. Then, individual responsibility also begins
and personal Karma is commenced.

3-The mention of Enoch and the "inner eye" of the seers of
the early
races leads to the topic of the entire nature of the "third
eye, " what
it is, when we had it, why we lost it, when we'll get it
back, etc. this
should be another good discussion.

DTB	Study on the 3rd Eye shows that at an early stage the
physical body of man was transparent (astral), and the
location of the organs of sight were not obstructed by flesh
and bone. The 3rd Eye (now, symbolically and
metaphorically) placed between and above the two external
eyes (in the forehead) is symbolic of the superior spiritual
vision which only the PURE AND ENLIGHTENED MIND of a SEER
has.

Therefore the 3rd Eye (said to be represented by the
"pineal" gland -- an atrophied gland today in most humans)
has become legendary and mythical. The SECRET DOCTRINE
explains its origins and original use and purposes. One
might surmise that if any individual is able to embody
altruism and idealism to the fullest extent (as did the
Buddha), then the 3rd Eye, (symbolic of active BUDDHI) is
altered and restored to functioning. But this is only a
guess. The actual power of discrimination, wisdom and
discernment are interior powers of the awakened MAN OF MIND
COMPLETE. We, as a race-group, have far to go to achieve
this stage. It then stands to reason that the physiological
appearance and form of such an enlightened Man-Mind would
also alter. Those who have the power to perceive
spiritually would see inside the "head" the active "3rd
Eye." This is what I culled from a study of theosophy and

Dallas, this should all be good material for straight up
Theosophical
discussion.

DTB	I would say not much to discuss, but if one uses the
S D INDEX and pursues every reference available of this
subject, then we can build a view of what is implied.

It is essential however to emphasize to ones' self the
importance of understanding the psychic, the intellectual
and the spiritual planes of life and action, and especially
their interaction. In so doing one has to escape from the
bounds and limits of matter as we presently know and contact
it, and begin to perceive the REAL MATTER (astral, psychic,
and intellectual -- within). Those alone lead to a grasp of
what the "deva-eye" represents. Also one ought never to
place ones reliance of the physiological and form side of
things;. The forms side only reflect that which is interior
to the student and disciple. The whole trend that a study
of theosophy induces in the individual is one that places
more importance on motive, (the control of desires) and
will, and far less on the physical, the physiological and
the selfish and isolationist tendencies of the personal
nature, taken as a whole. To succeed in human development
(Mind and Wisdom), the devotee has to impersonalize himself,
while at the same time, embrace and assist in all truly
beneficial human endeavors, the highest of which is to teach
the nature of human qualities, virtues and potentials.

To many this is quite incomprehensible, yet, it is the only
way to achieve any true progress. This is what I "get" from
theosophy.
