Dear Adelasie and Friends:

If Unity is stability, and all else is maya or illusion, and in
constant motion, then, in addition to UNION there has to be the "LAWS
OF MOTION." (or UNIVERSAL KARMA) [ These can be explicit or
implicit, but they are necessary, and essential.]

And then to those is an implicit bridge of communications or
INTELLIGENCE, and the necessity for each individual portion of the
ONE UNITY to be (as a part of IT) CONSCIOUS.

If there is consciousness, the sense of "I"-ness gives even the most
fleeting of illusions in maya its illusory sense of "being."

In any one incarnation this "I-ness" may be associated by us with our
physical form and its memories, which are limited to this life only.
If we perceive the possibility, and then by intent meditative study,
the reality of the ETERNAL "I" our range of CONSCIOUSNESS widens to
include the memories of many past lives -- in fact of all evolutionary
experiences that our MONAD has undergone since it emerged from the
"Monadic essence."

In other words the stability of the ONE requires the instability of
"the other." MIND alone serves to BRIDGE THE GAP as it partakes of
both and yet is independent. "The other" may be a way of designating
the actuality and the memories of this one incarnation, and the brain
faculties, and memories, which serve as the physical vehicle for the
ever-invisible MIND.

Therefore the philosophy of Theosophy states that the MIND PRINCIPLE
in NATURE: "UNIVERSAL MIND" or MAHAT ( the GREAT) is the only final
emergence of, and the end product of all manifestation. It is then
the MAHATMA -- the GREAT SOUL.

Matter becomes intelligent and Spirit becomes CONSCIOUS of ITSELF,
"Desire first arose in IT that was the primal germ of Mind, and Sages,
seeking within their own HEART found to be the bond between existence
and non-existence." ( I quote from memory) but see S D II 176 or T.
Glos pp. 170-1. )

Then, in addition to that there has to be PURPOSE. Nothing exists
without a reason.

Implicit in this is also a finality: a "goal" for which, and to which
all that is implied in this vast ex-istence tends. That is the final
remote potential, to which our present existence is only one of its
many preludes.

We, independently, as mind-beings, decide at all times where we go.
Our decisions and choices are marked by the degree of wisdom we have.
That wisdom is, in action, our motive. That is the kind of choice and
decision which, small or great, significantly moves this bit of
SPIRIT/MATTER ( the eternal MONAD within) on its eternal
pilgrimage -- of which we become somewhat aware through the study of
theosophy.

I hope this proves to be of use.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Unity is the only reality. All else is illusion. Useful illuision,.
from the point of view of evolution, since humanity is evolving from
ignorance to knowledge, and duality provides the environment within
which that evolution can take place. But all duality is really only
temporarily separated unity. Life as we know it is composed of
duality, it is true, but life as we know it is infinitessimal
compared with Life in its totality. The more we recognize the symbols
and evidences of the unity that underlies the seeming separateness,
the closer we come to understanding, and the more the unity itself
can become a reality in our own lives.
