Theosophy is not a political organization. It is permanent and
pervasive, a description of how things work. Politicians generate
karma, pay karma, reflect the karma of those they represent, just
like anyone else. If we see corruption in politics, as theosophists,
we have the responsibility to seek out that corruption in our own
natures. Theosophy teaches us that we can only see that which we are,
and that as integral parts of a whole unity, if we work to clean up
the corruption in our own natures, we affect in a positive way the
corruption we see around us. This is called transmutation, and it is
the most important work we can do. We may not perceive the results in
the world around us, but we will certainly percieve, one way or
another, how our efforts affect our own lives. We can have faith that
our efforts for good are never in vain.
