I recon a scientist would haft to say the egg came first. The chicken or domestic fowl must have come from a less evolved galliforme. Which in such case would not have been a chicken just a different form of fowl. Thus laid the golden egg. (chicken egg)
And I suppose that the same could be said about the teaching would have evolved from a series of events that created the teacher to express the generalized evolution.
