RE: Theos-World crop circles

Dear Mic:

There are a number of Web-sites that give data about "crop circles."

No one seems to be present when they are being made. They (from all
accounts, and whether they are simple or intricate) are "discovered"
afterwards.

All the pictures I have seen appear to designed around geometrical
shapes, the circle being the most usual.

Comparing them with symbology, ( as in S D I pp 4 to 6, and
elsewhere ) these do not seem to be conveying any specific message --
but, I could be wrong, of course.

I have often wondered if there happens to be any more ancient records
on this phenomena, but have not found any. They all seem to be
recent, say in the last 20 years or so.

Thinking about the possibility of their formation I have considered if
the "elementals" or nature sprites might be the cause or at least the
tools used by some kind of "Intelligence" that is either or both
frivolous or teasing, or just plain mischievous and ornery -- as some
kinds of "Elementals" might be. [ Reminds me of some of the early
phenomena around the time of the formation of the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY
in 1875 when "Katie King" and "John King" were frequent "visitors" at
some seances reported in the "Spiritual Scientist" magazine of Boston.
See A MODERN PANARION by H P B for more information. ]

Sorry, but I cannot think of anything else as a possibility. No
specific "lesson" other than their weird appearances seems to be
obvious.

I have long been puzzled as to the cause of these.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Now here is a phenomenon that for one reason or
another has not received its due amount of
intellectual curiosity. Apart from no concrete
scientific explanation for these recurrent, and ever
sophisticated, events, an indepth philosophical
account has also been lacking. Religious overtones
and/or repercussions have been neglected too.

For those interested I put forward a few simple
questions:

How are crop circles created?

If there is a conscious entity creating crop circles,
what is the agenda?

If crop circles are a 'natural' phenomena can they be
regarded as a fractal version of phenomena such as
crystal patterning?

If some non-Homo sapiens life form that is more
intelligent and technologically sophisticated is
creating these crop circles what does this mean for
our own personal identity and the identity of humanity
as a whole?

To what degree can Theosophy resolve unkown phenomena
such as crop circles?

Something to ponder over while sipping on that Sunday
morning cup of tea....
