Point of clarification: in the US knowledge of the
falsity of a defamatory statement (i.e., legal malice)
is only required if the person defamed is a public
figure. Of course, as a practical matter if you
wanted to sue someone resident in another country, you
would have to pursue action in that country, unless
said individual had assets here. You would also have
to prove damage to collect much of anything, which
might be difficult to do with an e-mail list.
Brigitte sent out so much mail I had to delete most of
it. What did she say, anyway?
