Re to Brigitte - the Guru

<<<Brigitte: If the idea is to find out about Blavatsky, Blavatsky's biography, or Blavatskyan Theosophy, historical inquiry is very useful.>>>

Agreed. And you have certainly demonstrated that much of her ideas and teachings were already around during the 18th and 19th centuries. But what about the possibility that such ideas have always been around somewhere?

<<<One should not forget that Faith is what made the Bin Laden followers
plunge these planes down, wich indicates that faith can be blind, even
those who have the faith don't know that and think instead they are on
top of the world. Faith therefore is illusory.>>>

Faith is blind, but not illusory. It gives us a very real power, for us to use as we will. Faith is the powerhouse for the will, which gives it direction - but the direction that our faith is pointing is completely up to us (assuming that we do, in fact, have free will), and this is where karma comes into play.

<<<On the other hand if History is an illusion, then where is the proof the TWC towers are still standing for example , then its "history" that tells us they are not.>>>

History (alias the past) is no more or less illusion than present and future. The three always function together.

<<<If it is spiritual enlightenment one is seeking, then it seems one doesn't need Blavatskyan Theosophy or any books at ale for that matter. Brigitte>>>

But one does need a guru, and this is an established teaching throughout our history and in virtually every culture (an archetype?). Today, books serve as our gurus, to the extent that we can learn from them. The Theosophical Core Teachings can be a guru for anyone on a spiritual Path, but like any gurus, we have to be willing to expend the required effort and we must always keep an open mind, and even then the guru can only point the way but cannot actually take us there.
