Blavatsky in Tibet

As everyone knows, I am not a history expert, and my knowledge of Theosophical history is lacking.

I am convinced that Blavatsky did understand some Tibetan Buddhism, at least the sutrayama as many of her statements concerning Mahayana Buddhism are correct, while few Westerners knew anything at all on that subject during that time. Whether she had any knowledge of Varjayana is questionable, and I have shown that it is doubtful if she knew any of Tzongkhapa's actualy teachings. With that in mind,

Did she actually go to Tibet?

If so, was she inititated there? (why else go?)

If so, what was she initiated into? Who initiated her? (I have to assume Tibetans)

According to Cranston (I think), KH's wife and child lived in Tibet, and Blavatsky visited them there.

Would appreciate help from our historian members.
