Re to Daniel - Yet Another Quote

"The personal God in man is not his seventh Principle alone, as per se and in essence that is merely a beam of light of the infinite Ocean of Light. In conjunction with our Divine Soul, the Buddhi, it cannot be called a Duad, as it otherwise might, since, though formed from Atma and Buddhi, the former is no entity but an emanation from the Absolute, and indivisible in reality from it." (CW XIV 49-55)

I will be interested in seeing if Jerry S. comments on this extract. Daniel H. Caldwell

As usual, Daniel, I have no problem at all with the quote. I would interpret to be in line with my own interpretive view, as given earlier.

The Higher Self, or "personal god" in us, is our atma-buddhi. She also calls it the Individuality as opposed to the personality, doesn't she? But this individuality is mayavic. Why? Because the atma is not an entity at all (and thus can't be an individual, as you guys keep saying) but only appears as such when linked with buddhi. Note the phrase "in reality" in the last line. She is saying that the atma is an emanation. This emanation is mayavic. Why? Because it seems, relative to manas, to be reality itself, but is in fact only an emanation of reality.
