Wes, Tony, and Frank:
We may assume that the upward triangle is good and
towards the spirit and the downward triangle is bad
and towards matter. That's if we consider the triangle
like a pointer. The tip of the triangle points in the
direction that it's going.
Another way to consider a triangle is to indicate
a hierarchy. The head of the hierarchy is at the
point, and level-by-level the hierarchy grows until
it reaches its base. In this analogy, the upward
triangle indicates a hierarchy ruled in spirit that
increases in size until it has reached the lowest
levels of matter. The downward triangle is a
hierarchy ruled by matter, reaching upwards into
higher planes of existence.
The direction of the triangles may change depending
upon where we are in the cycle of evolution. During
the downward arc, where we are descending into matter,
going through globes a, b, c, then d, perhaps the
downward triangle is the appropriate one. And now that
we're on the ascending arc, the upward triangle rules.
In this light, we would judge a triangle as good if
it were in the direction of evolution and bad if it
were contrary to the evolutionary impulse, contrary
to the direction the human lifewave is currently moving.

Dear Tony,
I agree with your assessment of this symbol -- the gilt triangle is pointing
earthwards, as it should be. I was only using the word "problem" to
indicate a common misperception of the seal when it is imprinted on book
covers, and to try to answer Frank who was hinting that "Crosbie's book" may
somehow be flawed. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Best Regards,
