Which shows, on the part of the writer, a major ignorance of Jewish
theology. In Judaism, the Talmud (which, traditionally, was given at the
same time as the so-called "Old Testament") is just as important, and
expands greatly on the laws outlined therein. The "eye for an eye" is a
law of REPLACEMENT, not revenge, and a call for equal compensation, not
equal loss.
