Jerry: I am more interested in what lies in the future. Here is a post I
sent to theos-l. May be we will get some feedback from others on this issue.

Hi Katinka:
While she is an excellent candidate, the broader question that everyone
interested should be thinking about is what is in the future. Who is going
to lead the TS in the next millennium and present Theosophy in manner that
will arrest the attention and interest of the upcoming younger generation
which has to take the ball and run. Most of those who are now active will
all be dead in the next decade. If one looks at all movements which had
affected Humanity in the past, they were all lead by leaders who are in
their prime of life and not in their last leg of their lives. So the
question of future leadership and nurturing younger leaders should be a top
priority for any organization which expects to grow or affect the minds and
culture of people. On the other hand, when you look at organizations which
are in a maintenance mode, you will find older leaders in control and don't
want to let any younger ones in leadership roles. While a long worldly
experience may be a good asset when dealing with worldly matters, such is
not the case with upcoming spiritual or cultural ones which are likely to
change the world. What is appalling is the lack of any discussion in any of
the formal settings about the future leadership issues as well as we have
not heard anything from any of the organizational leaders at national level
as far as I know. Could it be that we are seeing the beginning of the end
of TS as we know it. After all, looking at the past, we have seen great
religions and great civilizations have disappeared when their work is done.
May be TS has done its work and may be it is terminally ill even though it
may linger around for a long time to come. While we may have a very high
regard for the various leaders for the contributions they have made in the
past, as theosophists we need to look at the issue objectively taking all
the personalities out of the picture.
As for the ballot, I do not plan to mail it. I am going to donate the
34cents postage to the poor person who I usually see standing at the cross
roads near my office in sun and rain!

Hi Ramadoss,
Got the same ballot a few weeks ago, with only minimum information, as in
no more than you state below.
Have been wondering what to do with it. So far I have decided not to vote,
as I do not think there is a better candidate out there.

Well, it is an impressive description of the positions of power she has held
and who she is related to. More impressive to me would be a description of
what she has done for the Theosophical Movement in the last twenty years.
