RE: [bn-basic] Universal Love?

Mauri:

What underlies "Love ?"

What does it emanate from?

Is it not a "sense of incompleteness" and a trustworthy response
from one or more persons?

Is it emotional or is it Mind-full and thoughtful? Or is it a
combination of both?

Does it GIVE or does it expect to always RECEIVE? Does it
DEMAND, or does it ask -- and is prepared to accept rejection or
temporization ?

Is it sharing? And if so, to what limits?

I think all these ought to. Be considered and tentatively settled
to mutual satisfaction.

How does love relate to friendship and to brotherhood, or to
parenting?

What is patriotism? Is this for aeons or is it focused on the
country of origin, or of adoption ?

So many things to be defined (and I think that much of this is
internal to each person).

What would you say are the universal and impersonal PRINCIPLES
involved within and implicit in LOVE ?

re: forms of Universal Love?

In attempting to define "Universal Love" the
word "caring" comes to mind as a derivative of
it: So where would basic "caring" come from?
Seems as if here Theosophy jumps in with an
answer (as I see it): The "basic" Theosophic
concepts about Karma, Atma, Buddhi as they
apply to Manas would seem all to imply Care
and Love in their way which, to me, suggests,
as per variations of Manas-versions ("selfish"
to "unselfish") self/Self Love/Care regardless
of who or what that sort of attention/motivation
is focused toward in that, (as per Theosophy),
there is a Oneness aspect to us all. The empahsis
here being on "self/Self", as I see it.

In other words, aspects of "irrelevance" (or even
aspects of "evil"), when seen from a certain
unemotional Universal standpoint, become
apparent as the side-effects and tantrums of
one's growth process, basically, on whatever
scale.
