Dear Friend:
RE: Coordination in Manifestation from Point to Point
DIMENSIONS OF SPACE
A total view in metaphysic places no limits of the kind we are
familiar with in our 3 or 4 dimensional "space." (see SD I pp
1 - 20, 251-2 257-8 ii 600 612)
NEW MANVANTARA emerges from the OLD ONE
Every new manifestation of INTELLIGENCE (Spiritual perception -
see S.D. I 146, 181-2) in MATTER, is like a human Spiritual
Intelligence reincarnating into a physical body fit for its new
set of choices in life. All this is done under Karma. Karma is
the law that adjusts all causes to their effects and incidentally
touches the lives and fortunes of all that are concerned and
affected by another's choice, but, principally it is the
individual himself who is most affected.
LIMITS OF THE BODY
The "body" (and its limits in dimensions) is composed of the
self-imposed limits made by the "life-units, also called "little
lives," or SKANDHAS (in Sanskrit). In themselves they are MONADS
and are composed of indissolubly bonded SPIRIT/MATTER. Like the
"atom" they are eternal, perpetual motion and intelligent. [ One
ought to note, on examining one's own bodily functions, how much
is left to the autonomous system to control, while the
thinking/feeling and indwelling SELF goes about its own business.
The atoms, molecules, cells and other interacting structures are
seen to function as a harmony in diversity, and a marvelous
intelligence oversees all those while we who are the users of our
bodies are perhaps thinking or doing something else. ]
ETERNAL EVOLUTION is also UNIVERSAL
The process of "evolution" is also eternal and universal. Our
Earth is but a minute sample (but important to us) of what it
going on everywhere in the Universe. (But not necessarily in
bodily forms or levels of intelligence coincident with ours.)
MAN'S KEY TO UNIVERSAL SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS
The purpose of the evolutionary urge (which is propelled by
LAW -- Karma (collective and individual) is for the units of life
to acquire the faculty of UNIVERSAL SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS, or the
faculty of knowing everything from its cause up to the present
manifestation of it, and then on, into its future. Thus the whole
Universe comes under our survey.
BRAHM and BRAHMA
Brahma is a name given by ancient Hindu thought and philosophy to
that INTELLIGENCE who serves UNIVERSAL KARMA as an "agent"
responsible for the order of an atom, a molecule, a cell, a man,
an Earth, a solar System, a Galaxy, and so on -- there are hosts
of agents (as one can see even in our limited physical bodies)
who act in concert and accord with other agents.
Brahm is a word used of old to symbolize the Universe (manifested
or non-manifested) it is neuter.
PERIODICAL and CYCLIC MANIFESTATION
Periodically following the law of cycles under Karma, it goes
again into manifestation;
( Brahma) sleeps and after resting and assimilating (in thought)
the experience of the Manvantara (period of manifestation that
has just closed), it reappears (as before) on 7 planes, the last
being our kind of "matter" in which we are able to function as a
self-conscious unit (limited by our abilities and by our previous
choices -- called in generals "our Karma").(see S.D. II 596,
S.D. I 157, S.D. I 200 )
PROCESS OF EVOLUTION -- A FINAL GOAL?
You will find the process referred to in THEOSOPHY as covering 4
stages:
1. The ABSOLUTE ALL -- symbolized by a CIRCLE (S.D. II 621-2)
2. The Unmanifested LOGOS -- containing the Plan, the Word, the
Procedure in embryo, derived wholly from the long chain of
earlier manifestations as the KARMA (collective) thereof. [LOGOS
means WORD and implies: Thought and Planning and all evolution.]
or ONE.
3. The Manifesting LOGOS -- the whole procedure of
transferring from the non-manifested essence back into the 7
planes of being, the lowest of which is the physical. This
covers an enormous period of time (S.D. I 195 - 248) or TWO --
the duality of SPIRIT and Matter --
4. The Manifested LOGOS -- The UNIVERSAL MAN (or MAHAT -- the
UNIVERSAL MIND) is the active AGENT of Karma in all its many
departments. This Manifesting LOGOS is to be seen universally
present at the center of every manifesting, living system, be it
a Man. An atom of a galaxy; in Man, as the ATMA (a "ray" of the
UNIVERSAL SPIRITUAL IDEAL), it has for "vehicle and contrast:
BUDDHI, or the so far accumulated experiences of the Monad from
its beginning in the infinite "past" up to date. Between the two
poles (Spirit and Matter) is MIND -- derived from the UNIVERSAL
MIND (MAHAT). In Man it is named Manas, and has three divisions:
the THREE
1. Higher Mind or Buddhi-Manas (wise with the lore of all its
experiences, which are stored there in Akasa).
2. Lower Mind or Kama-Manas the mind bound by the principle of
(Kama) desire (passion, avarice, pride, doubt, blind faith,
hatred, lust, ignorance and fear) (see LIGHT OF ASIA, Chapter
6 -- pp 103-107); and,
3. the detached Mind which is able to view without passion or
desire things AS THEY ARE. This may well be said to have its own
direct root in the ABSOLUTE of which, because of its detachment,
it seems to be the representative here (but this is a speculation
by myself. In any case the ABSOLUTE is forever present, and,
ultimately it is EVERYTHING, whether in manifestation or not.).
GOAL -- PERFECTION -- UNIVERSAL WISDOM
If one seeks for a final Goal, one is offered the ideal of
multiple perfections in all the branches and degrees of
knowledge, science, philosophy. Sociology and religion. Each of
these are shown by THEOSOPHY to be merged into the ONE SOURCE.
>From this point of view it is aid that the PERFECTED Spiritual
Soul is the goal each human ought to erect in his/her mind's eye.
One might call it virtue personified. Some philosophies have
called this a return or a re-merging in the ONE. In theosophy,
this is not viewed as erasing the SELF of an Individual, but
rather it preservation and conservation. When wisdom is achieved
it is not non-essed, but rather it is used constructively. To
those who attain such heights of spiritual; wisdom, the
responsibility of being the guide and agent for a whole
evolutionary system becomes an obvious necessity.
BREATH OF BRAHMA
The breathing in and out of Brahma is illustrative of the source
from which we derive our days and nights. But Theosophy traces
far more activity in the Night than we imagine (see TRANSACTIONS
OF THE BLAVATSKY LODGE pp. 65 - 77 ULT Edition. BCW Vol. 10).
Similarly for a whole system or galaxy and the Universe. Those
have their periods of rest and of spiritual assimilation. And
when this comes to an end, the vast KARMA of that Entity
reasserts itself into the need for further work and bringing up
new monads out of the MONADIC ESSENCE (S.D. I 619) and offering
them a field of sensitive and every enlightening proceedings.
A SITUATION REPORT
We are all engaged in such a process. Theosophy offers us the
HISTORY of our progress so far. It is a kind of "Situation
Report." Where did we came from? How are we doing? What are the
natural forces in place? What are our potentials? Where can we
go from here? And, so on.
Essentially, Theosophy removes ignorance and widens our field for
making intelligent and wise decisions. It invites probing and
questioning, so that each one, independently, may seek and find
those laws and factors that either limit or enfranchise them.
The position of the Man-Mind is said to be "probationary." This
means that our mental freedom gives us the independence to make
choices. This means our further progress is directly our own
CHOICE. Further the doctrines of THEOSOPHY show us where and how
the Laws of Nature operate in, on and through us and all other
beings. This is why the first objective of the THEOSOPHICAL
MOVEMENT is named BROTHERHOOD. We cannot exist without the
sacrifice and service of many billions of life-entities who
furnish us with our bodies and the 6 other vehicles for the DHYAN
(the WISE SELF) to live in and work through. We are that
DHYAN -- but still in embryo. We have to tend to our own
guidance and help others in theirs, if they desire it.
Best wishes,
Dallas

Some rumours say, that the matter content is breathed out in each
Big
Bang, thus starting a new Brahmanic Day. And turning into
Brahmanic
Night, the matter is inhaled back to the dimension (=cosmic
astral?)
it originated. There it is analyzed, corrected, expanded, and
breathed
out again, as slightly improved and extended version of physical
reality. I don't recall whether the cosmic astral is inhaled too
into
the cosmic mental in one Brahmanic Year, or Millienium, but
something
like that. Law of the Cycles at this level is not very practical
or
useful thing to consider... but who cares? It's fun! O:-)
