And here is something interesting from Paul Johnson, talking about interpretation of religions and myths:
IMO, HPB's cosmology is, despite its mythopoetic language, recognizably akin to the contemporary scientific understanding whereas her anthropology, despite its seeming aura of scientific exactitude, bears next to no relationship to anything science has uncovered about human origins. Instead it's full of mythos misconstrued as logos.
Yes. being a scientist has make me think everything
with a dubtious caution. At the same time that i do not agree with the
sceptic maniac craze scientists that deny everything that escapes to their
comprension, i find some H.P.B. ideas about evolution, not deniable at
all, but product of her active interaction with the science ambient of
her time. the wide discusion of evolutionistic matters is a good example.
I find her point of view of man's origins more close
to the controversial darwinistic surround, she didn't refuse all Darwin,
but instead give us another point of view about possible origins of man,
the lemurian and atlantic origins quite reasonable, and a good interpretation
of old myths. Today, archeology finds older and older origins of manhood,
and tries to research in the faraway points (Like Peru - Tiahuanaco, some
Pacific ocean islands and looks that is another origins besides Africa)
some of them mentioned in Blavatsky's research and understanding of antique
legends of mankind.
Probably it could be found soon some of the old
ruins of Atlantis in the Bimini islands coasts and gulf of México,
you'll never know.
That will make me very happy.
i hope it can be find soon.
