When is said "Killing out desire", I wonder: it wouldn't be necessary to
mantain at least one - the desire of kill them? Is it a kind of paradox,
or are you talking about a certain "kind" of desire(s)?
It is not a true paradox (BTW there is a good article Paradox Lost in
Scientific American last month) unless we place desire as the only incentive
to all action. There is such a force as spiritual love and compassion which
is far above the equivalent desire, and function rather through the higher
aspects of the mind. Desire cannot kill itself, it could be crushed and
annihilated only in the retort of an unflinching will which originates from
realizing the unity of oneself with Life.
