Hebrews were the original name of the Jewish people. "Israelite" comes
from Jacob. After he wrestled with an angel, he was also called "Israel";
his descendents were the "children of Israel" or "Israelites". When the
kingdom of Israel split up, the kingdom that survived was called "Judah",
from which the word, "Jew" comes.
In modern parlance, the terms "Hebrew" and "Israelite" are frequently
found in literature by neo-Nazi's and the KKK.
