Theos-World Theosophy, Aryans, and Racism

I'm changing the subject here, as the new subject line indicates. I actually
did a little research into this business of the Nazi vs. the Theosophical use of
the term "Aryan". I originally became curious when I discovered that Woodrow
Wilson used the term "Aryan" to refer to Northwestern Europeans, in a racist
manner, years before the Nazi's. Before then, I had assumed that they had taken
it from Theosophical writings, and said, "The Aryans are the current humans We
are the only current humans; the rest are subhumans. Therefore, we are the
Aryans!" But this was clearly not the case. I have since discovered that the
idea that the Europeans were direct descendents from the Aryans who wrote the
Vedas, and were a superior race, existed in the early 19th century; check
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/6015/ for an example (no, Doss, this
has nothing to do with the "New Acropolis".

    H. P. B. certainly knew about this when she named the 5th Root Race the
"Aryans". Perhaps she wanted to change the term to include the whole current
human race, showing the same perverse sense of humor as when she named her
magazine, "Lucifer". Or perhaps (although I find this last almost impossible to
believe) she was only referring to Europeans, as the Thule Society claims. Can
anybody add anything?
