Your question is an excellent one. But, there are no "contradiction in
terms" in anything HPB ever said or wrote. Can you Imagine that, at the time
HPB composed the three objects, some of the "unexplained laws of nature" were
radioactivity, relativity, photoelectricity, quantum dynamics, DNA genetic
coding, quantum indeterminacy, etc., later discovered and expanded by such
20th century Promethium's of science as Curie, Einstein, Bohr, Heisenberg,
among many others? Could it be that this object and the way it was worded
was what inspired all of them? Check out where Einstein's theory might have
come from, at:

I wouldn't be at all surprised, if all the major breakthroughs of science in
the 20th century were inspired by the third object of the theosophical
movement. It might even be possible that it will also inspire even newer
paradigms of science in the 21st century... That is -- should my theory of
ABC, based on the teachings in the Secret Doctrine, be correct, and provided
that scientific experimentation can be devised that can explain how the
energies of consciousness empower all the formations of matter as well as
their energetic expression.. Such discoveries of these "unexplained laws of
nature" will eventually, give us a new source of free energy that will
forever end pollution of the Earth's atmosphere, as well as make possible
faster than light travel, utilization of psychic energy for purposes of
healing, realignment of the Earths energy fields, etc., etc.
Not only did HPB presage all these 20th century seminal breakthroughs in
understanding the formerly unexplained "laws of nature," but she made sure
that the search for such truths would be the final and conclusive object of
the theosophical movement... All the other objects were the necessary
preliminary preparation and foundation for the proper and beneficent use of
these discoveries. Could it be that the culmination of the implied search
for explanation of the laws of nature in the third object -- leading to a
final, all encompassing scientific (and technological) breakthrough, perhaps,
as forseen by my ABC theory -- would be the means to achieve the final goal
that the movement was designed to reach? The real question, then, is; How
could the salvation of the human race and the catching up of a million years
of lost evolution (since the catastrophic failure of the Atlantians) depend
upon discoveries of the "laws of nature" and an understanding of the
"psychical powers latent in man"?
Could it be that it might require the combined psychic energies of a large
group of knowledgeable, concerned and cooperative human beings (referring to
the first object), focussed through new technological mechanisms, perhaps,
based on a the new scientific paradigms (referring to the second object; the
Internet is one example with is technology based on the laws of cycles) -- to
reverse the disharmonious energy fields that are leading this world to its
inevitable catastrophic collapse? A collapse that could be far greater
(possibly due to our rapidly approaching overpopulation) than that of
Atlantis.
Is it not our accumulated materialistic, ecologically unconcerned, and
separatist thoughts and actions over the past hundred years that have led us
to this sorry state? Isn't that similar to what the Bible said (referring to
the second object) was the cause of the great flood that wiped out the
Atlantians? If not, then how else do we explain the purpose of HPB's
prodigious work to present theosophy and establish the TM (as well as present
the three objects) when she did? She, and the Nasters behind her were the
masterminds behind all the theosophical truths presented as well as
formulating the plan of the Movement and its objects -- not Olcott, nor Judge
-- who were simply HPB's students -- like us. :-)
Could the solution to the problem of how we are to reverse the negative
energies that are leading to the possible demise of the whole human race be
the "New Message" of this final cycle of the Theosophical Movement that all
theosophists are waiting for? There's much food for thought in these
questions. The worrying about the meaning of words is the least of our
concerns, don't you think?
I would be interested in hearing the comments of all thoughtful members of
this forum.
