Under current law, no explicit registration is needed. Copyright is
automatic once the work is created and fixed in a medium. Only when
litigation is needed, a formal registration may be necessary. Otherwise,
the copyright office will be inundated as well as it is very expensive to
register every piece of writing, even this msg!
