Theos-World Response to Dallas

>>What's the rush ? Under Karma we will "wait" for just as long as we
create the basis for delay.>>
No rush at all. In fact, I dislike forcing evolution. However,
the message that Theosophy is sending to the public
reminds me of the Hindu message prior to Buddha--that
we all have millions of lifetimes ahead of us and should
all be working to improve our future karma. Buddha came
with a message of hope for this life, and it is interesting
that HPB and Olcott were Buddhists yet the TSs seem
to have missed the Buddhist message.
>>The whole process of improvement is not to accelerate our
personal advance but to serve and help others. >>
Once again, I have to go back to the Bodhisattvic ideal
which says that helping others requires us to know what
we are doing. Enlightenment or Wisdom is required to
help others properly.
>> It does care about our developing into a useful agent for the whole
of humanity, our Earth, and the rest of the Universe. And that's the
way I see it.>>
This is why enlightenment in some degree is so necessary.
Mother Terresa is a good example of the spirit of altruism
without enlightened wisdom. She did a lot of good work,
but didn't need Theosophy (which contains much of the
wisdom part). HH the Dali Lama is a good example of
altruism with wisdom. The one helps on the lower levels
of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, while the other works
on the higher levels. I think we would all agree that both
are needed in the world.
