Dear Jerry:
What's the rush ? Under Karma we will "wait" for just as long as
we create the basis for delay.
The whole process of improvement is not to accelerate our
personal advance but to serve and help others. It really makes
no difference if we are designated one thing or the other. The
inner immortal Ego, the MONAD does not care about such
distinctions. It does care about our developing into a useful
agent for the whole of humanity, our Earth, and the rest of the
Universe. And that's the way I see it.
Let's suppose for a moment that the designations of the higher
achievements and initiations of a spiritual nature were valuable
and something to be attached to our names, what would be the
result ? People would become enamoured our incensed at seeing
those and the whole basis for work and study would vanish in a
welter of endless congratulations or defence responses. And
again no good work could get done under those circumstances.
That is probably why the Adepts do not advertise. "Those who
know, don't say. Those who "say," don't KNOW."
If we take "ourselves" out of the picture, in terms of success,
failure, delay, acceleration, then a lot of good work can be done
with the time at our disposal. And also we don't have to bother
with either pride or envy as additional burdens of a personal
nature.
Best wishes,
Dallas

a

soul.

Imagination alone won't take anyone as far as altruism.
I agree with that, Leon. All I am saying is that both are
beginnings. Imagination leads to direct experience,
just like altruism leads to bodhisattvahood. If you
want to wait until the end of this kalpa, then you are
certainly free to do so. My point is that we probably
don't need to wait so long.
