Dan,
Although I am not the author in question, I could have written the
this letter to you myself. There is no doubt at all that the karmamudra
is a living human being. I first came across this idea at least 20
years ago in a book by Herbert Guenther. About that time, I also
read Garma C C Chang say that in Tibetan the word bodicitta can
mean either compassion or semen. The bodicitta is now translated
as "drop" when used with the "winds" "centers" and "channels" of
occult physiology which I first studied in Evans-Wentz over 30 years
ago. My reading and study and personal experience have shown
to me that there is a direct connection between sex and spirit.
Now this idea is anathema to most Theosophists, but is true
nonetheless. I suppose the real question is how much do we
need to pursue this idea here. I have tried over the years to keep
this idea separate from Theosophy but it is not always possible.
As Rich points out, because Tibetan texts are so available today,
it does seem like such discussions are now in order because at
last we have the old Master's words in English.
