HPB brought theosophy to the West and indicated (in the Key to theosophy) that
it was part of the "Theosophical Movement" begun in Ancient Greece by the Neo-
Platonists, Plotinus and Porphyry. The T.S. was founded by her to be the
focus of that work.and its objects were, therefore, the same as those of the
Movement. As for a quote, I took my reference from the inside cover of
THEOSOPHY magazine (published by The Theosophy Company) on which is printed
the 3 objects under the heading, "Objects of the Theosophical Movement". The
magazine's purpose, as repeated in its publishers statement, is: "It
(THEOSOPHY) is devoted to the Objects of the Theosophical Movement".
