Dear Dallas,
No, I haven't compared HPB's and Krishnamurti's statements about the mind,
but K's writings have helped me understand what to do with theosophy. In
other words, how to apply theosophy.
Years ago when I was living in So. California I went every year to listen
to K. speak, but I did not really understand him. I heard him speak in
Santa Monica and in Ojai, but again, his message didn't do anything to me,
at least not consciously. Not until 1995, during my last trip to India, all
the pieces came together in a perfect mandala. After all, there is a
Brotherhood of teachers, as well as a Brotherhood of humanity. We cannot
separate HPB from Buddha or from any other teacher. They all belong to a
Brotherhood of helpers who have concern for humanity.
Krishnamurti's message is to make man free, free of conditioning, by
purifying the mind from conditioning, opinion, belief, etc. The motto of
the Theosophical Society says: "There is no Religion higher than Truth."
Truth is above everything, every belief, every opinion, every religion. In
order to get in touch with Truth we have to get the mind in shape. In
other words: we have to transform the mind. Then, we will get in touch
with Truth and things will never be the same.
If the message from a teacher is a true message, it won't conflict with the
message from another teacher, but it will support it. That is exactly what
happens with K's message and theosophy, they complement each other. More
than that, to me Krishnamurti's message is a key that unlocks theosophy. In
other words: we need it.
Sincerely,
Rodolfo Don
