	HPB's book ABOUT the Secret Doctrine (read the introduction) was
originally a big pile of pages. The editors put it into five volumes,
and later condensed them to two. There is some evidence that a good
chunk of what Annie Besant released as the third volume actually came
from the pages that were not used in I or II.
