Brenda, I don't know if you realize it or even care - but you are bordering
on blatant cruelty here. Alan never said anything about becoming a "viable
charity." He simply informed people of a problem he was having, offered the
solution he thought would best suit his circumstances, and then asked if
anyone on this list would help.
Asking him to post publically his address is just plain dumb and any more
intimate details you may feel you need to satisfy yourself should be posted
to Alan privately.
Have you no respect for a person? Just because Alan (and thirty trillion
other people) need money does not, all of a sudden, make them some kind of
kow-tow, answer when asked, subhuman. If you don't want to help, don't help
- but don't berate someone who is already in enough obvious pain.

Don't believe in setting up "legal charity?" As opposed to "illegal
charity" or are you the Ayn Rand type - everyone should either sink or swim?

No, you can't. You are not in a position which gives you that right.

Whatever this means - but now, Brenda, after such a post - neither is yours.

Well, after reading your post - Alan is probably saying "Well, duh!"
