CATS!

Jul 02, 1998 11:27 AM
by Jake Jaqua

Kymie ol' girl writes in #273:

>At first, Jakey ole' boy, I was angered by your post - you
>know, those
>hormones of mine were just going bonkers.  Why, I was
>screaming and crying
>and pounding my dainty fists against the wall.  But then
>that super-duper
>"girlie" hormone called 'sensitivity' took over and it
>suggested I seek and
>acknowledge the 'positive' side of your summation on
>women and their minds,
>biology, and psychology.
>So, I huffed and I puffed and I finally found one.  My I
>say, Jake, that I
>truly admire your ability to even complete a sentence
>being burdened with a
>mind such as yours - it must be a great struggle. I am
>humbled by your
>overcoming of such a handicap.

Seeing you like Cats, and having far too warped a
mind, as you say, to write something myself! - I'll send
you a little peace offering poem G.C. Legros wrote on or
named after his cat "Ondra."
                           - Jakey ol' boy

ONDRA

Ondra, I thought, is like the autumn sea
Within whose timeless mystery the rain
Cries in a hallowed loneliness until,
Far in the dread immensity of night,
Fearless and proud and free her spirit is.

Challenger her not with words. She listens only
To the deep thunder of the broken waves
Along whose massive wilderness her feet
Follow the wind. Look not with gentle eyes
Upon the world of darkness and the sea.

Now in this heartbeat of eternity,
While universes wake and sleep again,
Her spirit wanders in the flowing night:
Immaculate, austere, inviolate
Forevermore along the starlit way.
