Dear Alan:
Thanks for letting us know of the circumstances. That's lot of money to
be faced with raising. Like most I am sure, I wish I could just give it
to you.
You appear to have exhausted all the logical avenues, however, I can
offer the opinion that raising funds for a cause such as yours in this
society requires a business plan and publicity. So perhaps the ultimate
choice for both of you may be between staying put and expending energy
and large amounts of time to "fight" to stay, or to move on and retain
your feedom of energy and time.
Was it that you hoped that these Theopsophical organizations that have
lots of money invested could provide funds to designate your cottage as
a sort of retreat and library in Trust? Is this a possible solution?
Is there a younger person in the movement who would manage that
endeavour? Can the land be zoned commercial for such? Can some of the
funds be a loan based on repayment by earning fees by selling your
writings and by offering seminars? Are there any corporations who would
go for the publicity of being a supporter of such an endeavour?
How can we move forward without this money thing?????? You need 4,000
people to donate 20 pounds sterling each, that's $40 - a nice meal out.
I can handle that - can you get 3,999 more of me somehow?
In light of what the Spencer family is doing currently with Di's
memorial, may I say that there is no need for your friend or yourself to
take the way out that society seems to force us in despair to do.
Remembering what Cayce went through, can we find a better way?
I'm currently weighted down with the needs of not only yourself but
others here who are trying to start retreats and schools and such, to
not only share the spiritual life, but also keep a roof over their own
heads. It's something we will all have to deal with sonner or later
IMHO. Might as well start now.
Much love
Annette
