BUT please note, these two books were not published in her lifetime. Both
were first published in 1892, as also was the book "From The Caves and
Jungles of Hindustan."
What is remarkable is, that already by 1893 "The Secret Doctrine" (Truth is
brighter than the sun, truth is the sunny day of Reason) had been re-written
(and falsehood the mind's dark night), thus destroying the occult keys, that
is, just 2 years after H.P.B's death.
Why re-write that original of HPB and the Mahatmas (MAHAT-ATMA)?
What is marvellous is that the original edition is readily available in
facsimile, thanks to The Thosophy Co., L.A.; and Theosophical University
Press, Pasadena.

"Gems from The East, a Birthday Book of Precepts and Axioms" (a set of keys,
& a rising/setting sun, being part of the symbolism on the cover) was
*compiled* by "H.P.B." and published in 1890. Today's (16 March) Gem from
The East is:

Truth is brighter than the sun;
truth is the sunny day of Reason,
and falsehood the mind's dark night.

Have a great time, or should it be timeless?
