Dear Fernando:

It is a breath of fresh air to hear from you from Brazil. Welcome to the
list. All of us would like hear more from you about what is happening in
your part of the world.

Internet Maillists are breaking down all walls of separation -- individuals,
countries, organizations, beliefs etc. etc. I have personally seen first
hand evidence of this. The speed is going to pick up.

I am sure that the Founders would be rejoicing at the prospect of at last
Internet spearheading this trend which was just a pipe dream years ago.

Sylvia Cranston's book is indeed a very valuable piece of work and has a lot
of information and glad that it is a best seller in Brazil.

I believe all of us are united on the single fundamental principle -
Universal Brotherhood/Sisterhood/Siblinghood. Each one of us is different in
our personal experiences and beliefs and opinions.

In my opinion, the strength and usefulness of Theosophy to the world is
going to come from self-thinking and self-motivated individuals who are
fired with the enthusiasm for Theosophy who familiarize themselves with the
knowledge/info of Theosophy and act on them. A few individuals can make a
lot of difference in any endeavor. Great achievements in the history of the
world are due to individuals and not masses.

If after getting exposed to a lot of information (followed by discussions),
I believe many of us are intelligent enough to make up their own mind and
decide for themselves. If some are comfortable to be just silent followers
that is also ok.

In the above process there are going to be much diverse view points - both
on facts and opinions leading to a lot of traffic. But that should not
distract any of us from our common bond which unites us -- which is
Brotherhood/Sisterhood/Siblinghood.
