Dear Nicolas,

About the two Sai Babas.

The deceased Sai Baba is usually referred to Sirdi Sai Baba, living in
Sirdi.

The presently living Sai Baba lving at Pudapatti or Whitefield--nearly a
subburb of Bangalore is usually referred to as Sathya Sai Baba.

being referred to.

But I may add regarding your other comments, that you have expressed
certain conclusions, which most likly you have accumulated from
secondary sources, and they are necessarily true.  He as far as I know
does not practice black magic.  Nor is he always faking things.  Uri
Geller was also accused in this manner.  Many of Uri's phenomenon were
fact and paranormal, others he did fake when tickets had been paid for a
performance.

I personally have witnessed some of Sathya Sai Baba's phenomena, and
they were not faked, as far as an observer could judge, and I went there
critically.  But this is not to say that : a) I became a follower; b)
that skeptics--we have a very strong group right here in Bangalore,
working to detract from him--have not been trying to make him out a
fake, and that even faked video's could have been made. Bangalore is
second only to Silicon Valley in its Vedio productions and Computer
competance.  Video's also can very easily be faked, this seems to have
been forgotten by many of those referring to a video they have seen.

I really do not wish to enter into a controversy over this matter, but
it is also not possible to be silent under these circumstances, for one
would be doing an injustice.

I do not think that Satya Sai Baba's phenomenon, is crucial to our
theosophical talk, unless we wish to discover from HPB's and Judge's
writings the LAWS under which these might take place.  Judge's Ocean of
Theosophy, latter chapters give many of these laws, also some of his
articles.  The natural laws which would if understood would permit of
such manifestations, are far more important, than if a particular person
could or could not utilize these laws.  Theosophy can a does explain how
thse little known LAWS can be operated, and then it does not matter who
or where we find these phenomena taking place, we can understand the
rationale of the occurance.
