I personally have done a little study of the cosmology and all about
the rounds, globes etc, and found that doing so has expanded my view
of what it is all about and seen that I am only a small cog in a huge
cosmic play. I find it harder to take myself too seriously in view of
the understanding I have gained. This in turn leads to a more detached
view of life and belongings that otherwise can become too important in
one's life. My understanding is only general still but it is enough to
help remind myself that other persons are cogs too in the same play
and that they are just playing a different part and that the scene
they are in is not one that my part requires me to learn at the
moment.
It seems to me that selfishness arises when we think our bit of the
play is all there is and that we need to focus on our role to the
exclusion of the other actors so that we may receive the acclaim for a
part well acted.
Happy New Year
