The Real Christmas

Dec 19, 1997 08:22 AM
by Beryl Lawson

The following are some Christmas Carols often sung in Theosophy School to
get us in the mood for the Real Christmas, December 21st.:

The Circling path of Time
Through starring spaces wide
Hath turned Earth toward the sun once more
And 'tis the Christmas Tide.

Toward Light and Life we move,
With hearts refreshed we sing,
The seed time of old Earth renewed.
To all this message bring:

Good will to all that lives,
A waking time of heart.
In service that the Masters teach,
Rejoice whate'er the part.

And this the Christ in all,
And all men brothers be,
One Source of Light and Life and Love,
The Soul's own radiancy.

and this one:

Christmas Eve doth magic weave in every mind and heart.
Silently and secretly we feel a new year start.
Nature holds a quiet joy, a hidden hint of spring,
A life renewing hope for all her Lord of Light will bring.

The Sun Gods in the days of old all chose a Christmas birth,
Their presence waking hope in men as sun enlivens Earth.
The treasures sent from heart to heart create this season bright,
In Love and Peace and Fellowship doth shine the Christmas Light.

May we be happy in the Service of the SELF : Merry Christmas
