Olcott accidentally discovered that he could heal. Also at one point in
time, he stopped it because his Master told him.

Let me also add another experience. Even when Jiddu Krishnamurti was in his
teens, Besant used to ask him to put his hands on her temple to heal her
headaches. Her comment was that some how he had healing power.

Time and again Krishnamurti found that he could heal. He himself explained
that he does not know how it works and why it works in some case and does
not in other cases.

For a suffering person, relief from suffering is what is most needed and
he/she does not care where the relief comes from. Also if we believe in
helping the "orphan Humanity", if I do not personally know of some severe
bad effects, my inclination would be to use *all* my powers to help anyone
who needs help. If I am going to get bad Karma by helping someone in need of
help, so be it. I am sure that there is going to be a lot of good Karma and
the bad Karma is like the side effect taking a medication.

Just my 0.02.
