The Theosophical Society was inaugurated in New York on November 17th
1875. Of the 17 "founding members" only 3 reatined their membershp thill
the end of their lives: HPB, Col. Ocotee and Wm. Q. Judge
Here are some quotes I found helpful
"Theosophy is a cry of the Soul." WQJ Letters, p. 266
"Cast no one out of your heart." WQJ Letters p. 270
"Silence thy thoughts, and fix thy whole attention on thy Master, whom yet
thou dost not see, but whom thou feelest." HPB Voice, p. 17
"Let thy Soul lend its ear to every cry of pain..." Voice, p. 14
"The only guide is oneself--there must be an open mind, an eager
intellect,an unveiled spiritual perception, to have true direction." FP
