Again: Greetings to all for the 17th of November anniversary.

As to Karma.

As I understand, it is the great and universal Law of Harmony in the whole
UNIVERSE, which from the Great to the smallest fraction of life in
manifestation receives attention and is constantly adjusted with all the
rest. A tremendous concept. In reality Karma exceeds even Manifestation,
as it is the cause of any manifestation, and shows how the Present is
always rooted in the Past. Our present condition, each of us, is rooted is
all we have done and chosen in the past of this life, as of our earlier
lives.

As Personal to each human: it is defined most clearly by HPB in the SD,
Vol. 1, p 639 ....

It is educative and not punitive. Its action on us appears punitive
because we are not always able to connect the effects of "today," to the
causes which we alone generated. HPB goes into this in the KEY
extensively.

It is Universal Justice and Mercy because it considers the source of any
disturbance, the nature of the moral quality of that disturbance and its
effect on every living being around it (including other humans), and
finally, the nature of the adjustive force needed to bring the disturbing
influence back into harmony with the rest. There is quite wonderful essay
on Karma towards the end of LIGHT ON THE PATH.

It therefore puts all of us, humans, who are choosers and free-willed
beings squarely on our own responsibility. It does away with any kind of
prayer or petition for special dispensation from the effects of any
disturbance we may have created. It does this, because it considers the
effect on others who are affected and determines the power and force
necessary to re-harmonize, and to compensate them for any unmerited
suffering they endured, for which we may have been the cause. Most prayer
is selfish, and aimed at pacifying our sense of unease or of fear of
consequences. If we look within, we will find that we already know this
very well.

There is a great deal more, but I feel these are enough ideas that are
fundamental to a grasp of the exactitude and amplitude of Karma.

Perhaps there are some more ideas on the subject ?
