Dear Dara and friends:

Surgery apart -- I was unaware of netiquette (spelling -- sounds like a
Frency lady !) So if I offended anyone by being brief, it was because that
was all I needed to say at the time -- perhaps someone re-reads the matters
referred to. I agree that long repetitions consume time and space. But I
like to leave a "tag" which draws attention back to the matter responded to
without leaving a long leash too. I chop the rest off after leaving enough
of a clue.

Yes, we are a verbose lot, but we have interesting things to offer. I am
of the opinion that clarity makes all things take shape, whether they are
opinions or statements based on facts. I prefer the facts.

I seem to recall a line from Kipling's "IF" which to paraphrase states
that we ought to listen to all points of view without necessarily loosing
our own basis.

The fine thing about this exchange is that those who have come to
Theosophy by various paths now are able to freely speak, to mix and mingle
ideas and to seek out those which have common worth.

We cannot roll back time, and if errors of judgment were made by our
predecessors, then that does not require us to continue in them. We all
owe loyalty and gratitude to whatevery aspect of the Theosophical tree we
learned in, and that cannot be set aside, but, as I see it, as we we grow
in understanding we can then see what aspects of that previous development
were useful and worthwhile, or were not. In so doing we do not hurt
anyone, but it gives us a growing base as time rolls up to and past us all.

If we consolidate on principles, and ideas of continuing worth, we will
consolidate, all of us. -- And we all know this, so excuse me if I am
being redundent. Is this not one of the "brotherhood" aspects ?

Yes we have had a "monsoon" of comment - but the subjects were, one (or
several), which needed resolution. Some may not care to read everything,
but . . . . that is up to them. The basic books of Theosophy are
available to all of us, but that does not require us to keep our eyes glued
solely to those pages, although we would probably profit form a steadily
piece of our time devoted to such study, and some continued reference from
day to day to those great ideas -- which we can use an think of, and if
suitable, apply.
