Regarding Mark's comments on inundation of the list...
1. What is trivial depends on the reader. For example, a discussion of
things I could already read in a book is very boring to me. On the other
hand, I find personal opinions very interesting.
2. The advantage to a person responding to posts, even if it does turn out
to be 20 times a day :o), is that it creates a dialogue. Again, if I
wanted something impersonal, I would have read a book and thus have total
control over what I'm reading.
3. I admit that I do find having to go through almost 100 messages a day
tiring. However, I would still want people to express themselves in
whichever way they like. Perhaps having a digest would be a better answer.
One could just do a quick scroll through the digest and then quickly
delete the whole thing.
My two cents.
