I think it is a matter of honesty.  Its not primarily an
intellectual thing.  The Guru is recognized at the heart level,
although intellectual discrimination plays its role, too.  We DO
get what we REALLY want.  Desire attracts its object.  This is
true both for "lower" and "higher" desire.  If there ARE one or
more messengers out there we can find them, if that REALLY IS
what we desire.  But it will take a kind of inner listening that
bypasses intellectual programming.  Oftentimes we become
comfortable in a setting that has become familiar to us and thus
we do not go on to brake the mold.  Reincarnation is a blessing!
