Theosophy & Occultism

Peter:

HPB states in "Studies in Occultism" that true occultism or
Theosophy is "the great renunciation of self" unconditionally and
absolutely, in thought and in action (p.17). Furthermore, the
applicant has to choose absolutely between the life of the world
and the life of occultism (p.22).

On page one of the same book HPB writes that Theosophy is
"theoretical" occultism. She also says becoming an altruistic
Theosophist is "easy". Read her ~Key to Theosophy~ page 25,
where she writes: "A man may be a very good Theosophist indeed...
without being in any way an Occultist."

Not true at all. There are many passages saying that Theosophy
was not brought forth for manufacturing disciples or future
adepts, but to decrease selfishness & increase selflessness
within the human race.
