Errors attributed to Mahatmas writings Jupiter, etc...
Perhaps if we remember that the Mahatma was writing to Mr.
Sinnett to show him the occult fact that "Jupiter" as a planet
might play far more in the way of "influence" than the purely
material planet we know of and speak of, those curious statements
make sense. I do not mean that we ought to take them on "faith,"
or on "surface value." I mean that they should be noted, set
aside and references sought as time passes which might unite them
to something else that explains them. I have often done this and
usually find in a while that an explanation is to be found.
Suppose that the "Raja Star" spoken of there (but not identified)
spread a certain influence over the whole of Kosmos, as part of
its responsibility in the Kosmic environment. [ We have heard of
"cosmic rays" which pierce the Earth as though it did not exist
as a barrier to them. and elaborate "traps" have been set up to
try and register any effect they might have in a random strike
deep in the earth, where batteries of photo sensitive cells would
record such an event -- and have so recorded a few. Suppose that
these same "cosmic rays" might emanate from such a "Raja Star?"
-- Will we ever know? ]
Perhaps the "planet Jupiter" of our Solar system, is curiously
attuned to receiving this unknown, so far, influence for our
system (as a radio might be tuned to receive a certain frequency from
a broadcasting station to which it is tuned) . And let us
also suppose that it was the "duty" of "Jupiter" to redifuse this
inflence in our area (as a radio produces a certain volume of
sound audible in a certain place).
Then, might we not say that Jupiter, as either "radio" (or a
lens) that focuses the "influence" of the Raja Star -- whatever
that might be -- keeps in rapport with that "Star" which is, so
to say, "behind it."? Any lens held in sunlight in any place
picks up enough limited rays of that sunlight to start a fire,
but the lens does the focusing because of its construction. It
chooses the rays as we direct it to do, so we have the Sun, as
generator, the lens, as focusing instrument, our own intelligence
and will-choice to employ it and ignite a piece of paper, let us
say. Evidence of several essential parts of a complex equation.
While many monuments that have descended to us as ruins
(Stonehenge, Avesbury, Carnac, the Pyramids, Ankor Wat,
Borobudur, etc...) are also found to have astronomical
significance, we wonder what their past was and when they were
originally set up.
In this instance we are given a glimpse into certain secret
aspects of Kosmic astronomy, and while we may not understand them
with the little knowledge that we do have, I do not think we are
entitiled to (in our ignorance and presumption) "throw out the
baby with the bath water." Why should a Mahatma bother wasting
his time to write something useless?
