Dallas:

Boris Mouravieff, author of "Gnosis - Study and Commentaries on
the Esoteric Tradition of Eastern Orthodoxy, Volumes I, II and
III has some interesting comments to make about chaos versus law.
Mouravieff was a student of the teachings of Gurjieff and
Ouspensky. He views humans as living either under the General
Law, and subject to chaos and accident, or under the Law of
Exception - where one is consciously treading the Way (Path) and
where there are no accidents. The General Law seeks to keep us
enslaved in our primitive states. To break away from this
slavery we have to pay a high ransom. It is a matter of
reversing the flow when we decide to leave the Path of Involution
( of Experience) and begin to tread the Path of Evolution ( of
Return.) At that point of decision, we are on the 50/50 line. It
is a very great strain on the soul to break free. Yet the
ultimate moral bankruptcy experienced by that same soul under the
General Law is the impetus which impels it onto the narrow razor
edged Path!
