Adieu to Clones

Dear Gail and friends:

The point about choice in evolution brought about by Gail's
comments is very significant. It is true that the passages which
I speculated Rich might be referring to are not the exactly
pertinent ones, but do indicate in a general way how an seeming
"accident" can alter the course of Karma and require compensation
in later rounds or races. As Gail points out, later, when the
sin of the mindless was repeated, we find H.P.B.'s prophecy even
more potent, and yet opening a door for some portion of a
life-wave.

Her most important contribution though is the idea of Soul. If
incarnation proceeds from within outward as Theosophy postulates,
then the higher ego unfolds the sheaths of the soul from within.
This process cannot be replaced by any physical means to afford
an appropriate vehicle for that reincarnating ego. Even in
so-called "identical" twins you find character differences, and
mental outlooks. The beauty we admire amidst Nature's diverse
forms, exhibits constant variation and change. In Theosophy we
cherish the Plantonic ideal of evolution as expressed by the term
"emanation" rather than the inherited religious concept of
"creation". When science tampers with "creation", it reasserts
the God idea, and makes a religion of materialism, in my opinion.
But I am not opposed to pure science, as a quest for Truth,
without inserting Man as superior to Nature.

All best,
