HPB and Mission of Theosophy

Dear Nicholas Weeks,

Thank you for sharing H.T.Edge's article "H.P.Blavatsky on the
Mission of Theosophy."

I read so much printed here in "Theosophy Talk" of a nitpicking
nature that I wonder how much of what HPB tried to do is
appreciated by those who call themselves her students.

Why would a woman devote her life's energies, her reputation and
her worldly possessions to a cause, whose purpose is literally
the salvation of humankind, in order to dupe people into
believing that there are greater and wiser beings who instructed
her? If she was out to fool people why not try to take all the
credit to herself?

Who said: "By their fruits ye shall know them."? The message of
Theosophy is clear: We are all divine in our essence; we are all
responsible for our actions; we all have a lofty and mighty task
and goal: "the redemption of every creature throughout the
world," to quote Kwan Yin. With such a mission how can anyone,
the Messenger or her humble students, whom we claim to be, spend
our energies looking to deceive?

I may not understand all HPB did but I do know in my heart of
hearts that her motive was pure, her task horrendous, the support
of the Masters for her and her work was never flagging. With
such a feeling I can do no less.
